Oil painting is one of the oldest and most beautiful art techniques, which has maintained its exceptional status in the history of art for centuries. Since the Renaissance, masters like Leonardo da Vinci and Rembrandt have used it for its ability to capture fine details, deep tones, and vibrant color transitions. Despite its complexity, this technique offers painters incredible freedom and possibilities – due to the slow drying of oil paints, you can adjust, layer, and deepen the expression of your artwork over time.

Basic information

In our one-time oil painting course, you'll have the opportunity to dive into this fascinating technique, learning the basics of working with colors, mixing, and layering. While oil painting may seem challenging, under the guidance of an experienced instructor, you'll master the techniques that will guide you from the first brushstrokes to the final piece.

The course is suitable for both beginners looking to explore oil painting for the first time and more advanced painters who wish to refine their skills and experiment.

We will provide

oil paints and all the supplies for mixing and thinning them
use of brushes, palette knives, and easels
loan of a work apron

Notes

Please bring ideas and references for your painting. You’ll discuss your references with the instructor and choose the most suitable one. Afterward, you’ll transfer the chosen reference onto the canvas.
