3. Single Session Courses

Single session courses consist of one to five sessions.

3.1. Single Session Courses for Children

The recommended age range for participants is always indicated in the course details on the website. A parent or family member registering a child for the course agrees to the age limit. The age limit may be lowered upon request, but only if a parent or another adult accompanies the younger child to assist and supervise their work. This must be approved in advance by the course organizer and instructor. Age limits are always set based on the difficulty of the work, the materials and tools used, and the safety of the children.

Parents bring children to the session on time and hand them over to the instructor, then pick them up at the scheduled end time of the course. Parents of younger children may assist their children during the session by arrangement with the instructor.

The instructor has the right to refuse a child with an infectious disease from attending the course.

Children should not bring valuables or items that could be damaged. Parents acknowledge that the workshop is a public space, and neither the organizer nor the instructor is responsible for stolen or damaged items.

At the beginning of each course, the instructor explains the course content, work procedures, tools, and equipment used, informs the children about safety practices, and warns them of any potential risks. Children must follow the instructor's instructions throughout the course.

Aprons are available to prevent clothing from getting dirty. The organizer and instructor are not responsible for damage to clothing resulting from creative activities and being in the workshop.

Children use only the tools and materials provided by the instructor for the particular technique. It is not allowed to use other tools or items available in the workshop or brought from home. Children create only in the areas designated for that purpose – the art workshop with a worktable.

Entering staff-only areas is prohibited.

Children are not allowed to leave the workshop without a parent or instructor.

After the course ends, children are returned to their parents, and older children may leave on their own.

3.2 Single Session Courses for Adults

Courses for adults are intended for those over 18 years old unless otherwise stated in the course description.

The presence of young children in adult and older children's courses is not recommended, mainly for safety reasons for the child and all course participants. Additionally, it may disrupt the atmosphere of the courses, where adults come to relax from daily concerns. In certain cases, an exception may be granted with the consent of the organizer, instructor, and all course participants. The parent assumes full responsibility for the child's safety.

Participants should arrive at the course in time, and the instructor starts the session as scheduled.

Semester courses and clubs consist of 5 or more sessions and usually last one school semester. Unless otherwise specified, semester course sessions are held weekly on the same day and time.

The semester course offerings are listed on the website www.mojedilna.com. Interested individuals reserve their spot by purchasing the course.

Attendance, absence, and excuses for missed sessions are recorded in a class book at each session. Within a semester course, sessions can be made up as follows:
- Two sessions for sudden events or illness, by notifying the responsible person at Moje dílna via email/SMS,
- Up to five sessions for planned absences, with prior agreement at least 7 days before the course.

If the above conditions are met, the participant receives a promo code for the value of each missed session from the responsible person at Moje dílna. This promo code can be used as a discount when purchasing another course online. Participants can make up sessions in other semester courses or use promo codes as discounts for other single-session courses. The promo code is valid for 12 months and can be used once.

The participant may send a substitute for the session they cannot attend. The organizer must be informed of this in advance. This will be considered an adequate substitute for one session.

If the registration is canceled after the course has started, the participant is not refunded the course fee. Exceptions are decided by the organizer.

4.1. Semester Clubs for Children

At the first introductory session attended by both parents and children, parents fill out an application form. This form includes the child's full name, date of birth, information about health conditions and any allergies, contact information for both parents with phone numbers for emergencies, and information about who can pick up the child from the club, or if the child is allowed to leave the club unaccompanied.

During the introductory session, parents and children are informed about the club's schedule, attendance rules, and safety rules. The application form, signed by the legal guardian, is then kept in the workshop's records.

5. Ceramics for Adults – Semester and Single-Session Courses

Ceramics is an artistic technique that requires special technological procedures and equipment. To complete a single ceramic product, it typically requires at least three visits to the workshop:
- 1st visit – shaping and decorating the product – after drying (about 1 – 2 weeks), the product is fired in a ceramic kiln;
- 2nd visit – glazing (coloring) the once-fired product – the glazed product is fired again in the ceramic kiln;
- 3rd visit – collecting the finished product.

The entire process usually takes 2 – 5 weeks, depending on the size of the product and the kiln’s availability.

Even an experienced ceramicist might occasionally process the clay imperfectly, causing the product to crack or otherwise damage in the kiln. Glazes may also react differently, being absorbed more or less into the product or dripping off. These are natural materials, and we cannot guarantee the final result. Moje dílna is not responsible for products damaged in this way. The risk of damage can be minimized by regular consultations with the course instructor. We handle participants' products with the utmost care and attention.

As of August 16, 2021, the following material allowances per person are in effect:
- Semester course in ceramics for adults and seniors (morning) – each session lasts 180 minutes, and each participant can use up to 20 kg of clay (2 packages) for the entire semester; for a single session visit, the clay allowance per person is 1.25 kg.
- Semester course in ceramics for adults (evening) – each session lasts 150 minutes, and each participant can use up to 20 kg of clay (2 packages) for the entire semester; for a single session visit, the clay allowance per person is 1.25 kg.

Each semester course participant receives their first package of clay during the first session, and its receipt is recorded, as well as the receipt of additional packages. The package will be marked with the participant’s name. The participant takes responsibility for the package, managing their clay usage, ensuring the package is properly wrapped to prevent drying out, and storing it in the designated place. The participant can choose between SB and MAM clay types.

If a participant fully uses their semester clay allowance and wishes to purchase more, they can do so for 1,000 CZK per 10 kg. This price includes ceramic clay, glazes, and firing. The minimum amount of clay that can be purchased is 1 kg for 100 CZK. This price is only available for semester course participants and applies only to crafting within the course. The price is not transferable to free crafting sessions.

If a participant does not use their semester clay allowance, they can take it home or leave it at the workshop. However, the remaining clay cannot be used for firing and glazing at Moje dílna. This option is only part of the semester ceramics course.

Each product created by a course participant must be labeled with the month and year it was made. We will store the products at the workshop for 3 months from this date, after which they will be discarded due to limited storage space.

6. First Aid

Basic first aid is provided by the workshop staff, who are trained in this area. In the event of a child's injury, parents are immediately notified, and if necessary, an ambulance is called. A record is made of every injury.

This policy takes effect on September 11, 2017. Last updated on August 3, 2024.
